MLB Launches California Ticket Hunt with Disney

(06/07/2010) – Venice, California - Want to win tickets to Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game in July? Have some extra time on your hands? You might just be in luck if you’re familiar with the most famous landmarks in Southern California. Major League Baseball, which will be holding its All-Star Week games at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, has partnered with Anaheim’s other big property – Disney – to hold a contest to win tickets to the game.

MLB and Disney have placed 36 statues throughout the Greater Los Angeles region (including Orange County) in what it calls “high-profile” locations; the status are of Mickey Mouse, and every one of them features Mickey decked out in different team attire. The rules are simple: be the first to capture a photo of yourself with all 36 statues, post them on Twitter, and you’ll win tickets.

Where can you find a complete list of statue locations? You can’t – it’s a scavenger hunt, though the MLB has instructed game participants to keep an eye open at “high-profile” locations throughout the area; they’ve even gone on to mention some rather obvious locations, including Anaheim Stadium, Downtown Disney, L.A. Live, and the Kodak Theatre – but there’s also other ones scattered in some locations that are a bit off the beaten Disney and Hollywood tourists walks.

We’ll tell you where two more are – one is at Orange County’s Laguna Art Museum, another is posted out in front of Anaheim City Hall. Visit mlb.com/mickey for further rules and game explanations.
