(06/15/2010) – Tokyo, Japan – The Tokyo Disneyland Resort recently announced an opening date for their highly-anticipated new attraction, the 3-D film Mickey’s PhilharMagic. Featuring the classic Disney characters as well as more modern favorites from such films as Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin, the attraction will feature a 150-foot-wide screen, one of the largest purpose-built 3D screens ever created. Various in-theater effects also help to tell the story.
Mickey’s PhilharMagic will open on January 11th, 2011 at Tokyo Disneyland Park, in Fantasyland; it replaces the former Mickey Mouse Revue attraction, an Audio-Animatronics theater presentation. Mickey’s PhilharMagic can also currently be found at The Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World and at Hong Kong Disneyland (read a review of the Hong Kong version here).
Tokyo Disneyland Resort’s other new attraction, an Aladdin-themed spinning ride similar to Dumbo named Jasmine’s Flying Carpets, will open in Summer 2011 at Tokyo DisneySea‘s Arabian Coast district.
